Essence of Dhamma
Dhamma, step by step.
Study the Buddha’s teachings, develop the training through ordinary life, and verify what is being taught through direct cultivation. Begin where the present question is clear, then follow the path in sequence.

Before walking the path, know what you are placing confidence in
Buddhānussati, Dhammānussati and Saṅghānussati show the qualities of the Teacher, the teaching and those who have realized the path.
Three recollections
Buddha, Dhamma and Saṅgha
These recollections are not merely formulas of respect. As their qualities are understood, contemplated and increasingly verified, doubt loses its hold, confidence becomes grounded, and citta gains a clear direction for practice.

One connected training
The site’s organising principle is visible immediately, so individual topics are not mistaken for unrelated techniques.
For experienced Vipassanā practitioners
Already familiar with Vipassanā? Neither accept nor reject.
Many practitioners arrive here after years of Vipassanā practice, including ten-day and longer Goenka retreats. There is no need to discard what has been learned, nor to accept another interpretation merely because it is presented differently. The Buddha gives a more useful standard: investigate carefully, compare with Dhamma and Vinaya, and examine where repeated cultivation actually leads.

Neither Accept Nor Reject
A detailed inquiry into the Goenka Vipassanā system through the Buddha’s Four Great References, the sevenfold direction of Dhamma, the gradual training, vedanā, sammā-samādhi, body scanning, daily-life transformation and a direct Buddha-versus-Goenka comparison.

What obstructs the mind before samathā?
Sati-sampajañña makes the obstruction visible. The task is then to understand what feeds it, weaken its nutriment and abandon it rather than trying to bypass it.
Three core studies
Mind & body
The body may become the first patient. The mind can become the second.
Physical illness may arise through bodily conditions and require proper treatment. But craving, resistance and delusion can create another layer of suffering around what the body is already experiencing.

Rāgādi Rogān — The Deeper Disease of Saṃsāra
A physician may treat fever, pain and disease in the body. But what treats the craving that clings to pleasure, the aversion that resists what is unpleasant, and the delusion that mistakes changing conditions for “me” and “mine”?

One discourse that brings the whole path together
MN 38 shows how conditioned experience becomes craving and renewed suffering—and how the complete training brings that same process to cessation.

The Greater Discourse on the Destruction of Craving
Beginning with the mistaken idea of a consciousness that travels unchanged through saṁsāra, the Buddha unfolds conditioned viññāṇa, nutriment and dependent origination, then leads through sīla, sense restraint, sati-sampajañña, the five hindrances and the four jhānas before returning to the six sense doors to show exactly how craving ceases.

How these stages unfolded for me
The six stages above are easier to understand when seen as a lived progression rather than as separate techniques.
From Ignorance to Awakening
The suttas that changed my direction
My own path did not begin with a complete map. It began with the problem of dukkha, moved through meditation methods and teachers, and gradually became organised around sīla, sense restraint, sati-sampajañña, samathā, jhāna, vipassanā and repeated verification against the suttas.
