Dhamma Essence on YouTube
Use the channel as a guided learning path rather than a large archive of separate videos. Begin with the training map, choose the series that matches your present need, and follow it in sequence.
Can Nibbāna be understood and experienced by a lay practitioner? The channel explores this question through the Buddha’s suttas and through one connected practice path.

The practice path
One connected training
The videos are easiest to understand when these stages are seen as one gradual development rather than unrelated meditation techniques.
Choose your journey
Begin with the series that matches your present need
For a complete journey, use the long-form Puthujjana-to-Sekkha courses. For focused training, use the retreat, Ānāpānasati or Sotāpatti series.
How to use the channel
Do not try to watch everything
With a large video library, sequence matters more than quantity. Choose one path and work through it steadily.

From Puthujjana to Sekkha
The broadest English pathway. It connects Sīla, abandoning the ten unwholesome actions, mental cultivation, Samatha, Jhāna, Vipassanā and recognising progress as one training.

Use this when preparing for sustained practice. The series brings the foundations together as a disciplined progression from Sīla and sense restraint towards deeper meditation.
Open retreat series ↗3Focused meditation trainingĀnāpānasati — Step by Step
Use this when breath practice needs systematic development. Follow it as training within the wider path rather than treating breath observation as an isolated technique.
Open Ānāpānasati series ↗4Understanding noble progressSotāpatti — Stream-entry
Use this after establishing the foundations to examine what the first noble stage means, what changes in the practitioner, and how progress is understood through the Buddha’s teaching.
Open Sotāpatti series ↗Recommended order
Foundation → Practice → Refinement → Verification
For most practitioners, begin with From Puthujjana to Sekkha. Use Retreat Practice when moving into sustained training, Ānāpānasati when the meditation method needs refinement, and Sotāpatti when investigating the first noble transformation. Jhāna and detailed sutta studies can then be used as supporting deep dives rather than as disconnected starting points.
